Democrats further extend generic ballot lead as midterms approach

The Democrats have extended their lead in the generic ballot to 8 points among likely voters in the latest Focaldata-Financial Times poll of the midterms. Fieldwork was conducted between 2 and 5 October 2026, with a sample size of 2,553 US adults.
