Democrats hit new high in penultimate midterms poll

The Democrats have extended their lead in the generic ballot to 9 points among likely voters in the latest Focaldata-Financial Times poll of the midterms. Fieldwork was conducted between 16 and 20 October 2026, with a sample size of 1,845 US adults.
