Supplementary Polls for Times opinion columns

September 11, 2026

Focaldata conducted three surveys between April and July 2026: a nationally representative poll of 1,693 UK adults; a poll of 1,403 people who voted Labour at the 2024 general election, built by combining a nationally representative UK sample with a boosted sample of 2024 Labour voters; and a poll of 1,632 Democrats and Democrat-leaning independents in the United States. These were all conducted in association with Times opinion pieces written by James Kanagasooriam.

The two UK samples were weighted by age, gender, region, education and 2024 vote to be nationally representative (or representative of 2024 Labour voters, in the case of the second); the US sample is unweighted as it is Democrat specific sample. Focaldata is a member of the British Polling Council and abides by its rules. Tables can be found here.
